Test Anxiety

Test Anxiety is a series I started using Scantrons as a base. Growing up, and to this day, I have struggled with debilitating test anxiety. As a result I have had to seek services every time that I entered university through the student’s disability office. I would get extra testing time to help with the issue I experienced of fixation on time. While I exemplified in writing when taking timed tests I freeze, go blank, and fail the tests. This was hard to live with for so many years and it wasn’t until 2011 that I realized after years and years of testing that I needed to seek services from the universities I attended.

It was a leap of faith to go into the office and say I need help. It took a lot of courage and grappling with my ego. However, after I received services I noticed improvement in my test taking. Without the kind folx at the disability offices I would not have been able to flourish and end up where I am today.

This series is dedicated to those who help individuals in higher education find ways to succeed.
