India Jaunt, 2014
In 2014, my sister, my father, and I went on a five week jaunt throughout India.
Our father, who was newly diagnosed with liver cancer at the time, and shortly after his father, and last remaining parent, died at 91 years old.
As a result of these two traumatic events, he divorced my stepmother, a long-time toxic relationship, and took his two estranged daughters on a pilgrimage of sorts all around India.
In this series, I aim to explore how I might attempt to repair broken relationships. Ten years later, it feels like we still haven't made any progress.
Shot on my Nikon F series with Porta 800, I recently scanned and edited these slides to explore how I might reconnect with two people I never really knew in the first place.
I can only hope that time can heal these broken relationships as I process these photos.
